Corrupt TCP/IP stack

How do I remove it in Windows XP Pro?

One of my computers is not able to receive any packets, but sends them out. I have tried repairing the connection, and get the following error "Failed to renew IP address." I have switched out networking cards, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, and done the netsh reset with no progress. The only other option I know of is manually removing and reinstalling the TCP/IP files. But I can't find the specific information on the Microsoft support site as to how to do that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as to what I need to do. Thanks in advance!

under the properties for the Local Area connection simply remove TCP/IP from the protocol list and reboot. Then reinstall it after the reboot and just for giggles reboot again. You should have a default TCP/IP stack once you are done.

The uninstall option is not selectable there. I thought it was kinda weird....


Edit: Thanks JackMDS for the link... I'll give the items on that page a go (aside from the reset netsh which I already did).

hmm my way might only work on 95/98 havent had to reinstall a TCP/IP stack in awhile. 🙂
