Corrupt registry - can't find CD-RW

Howdy everyone.

I'm hoping someone can help! Been running W2K Pro for the last month and half. Everything has been running fine. Today while in My Computer I noticed my HP CDRW (9300i) didn't show up. I figure rebooting and maybe it will clear up. Nope. So I go into the device manager and notice the yellow exclamation mark around the drive. The details note that the registry might be corrupt. I run it's recommended troubleshooting (making sure the system has full access to the enum reg. key) and reboot. Same problem. BIOS is finding the drive just fine, and W2K even correctly identifies the drive...I just can't access it because it doesn't show up in Explorer or My Computer.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tom

Just a followup note...

This has to be an OS problem with W2K. I have an old DOS boot disk that I use for ghosting. This floppy boots to DOS and has CDROM support. When I used it, I was able to access the drives just fine. When I boot back into W2K I still have the same problem...so...something is corrupt somewhere.

Looks like I fixed it. I remembered that the last thing I did that might have affected it was to uninstall Nero. Reinstalled Nero and now I can access the drive. Strange...
