Corrupt Profile - Windows XP.

Ok I have been using XP for quite some time and just today has this problem. Everytime I restart it says corrupt profile and logs in as a temp (meaning all files are lost upon reboot). I know I can start over but the main thing is I dont want to lose my e-mails and cant find them anywhere. Where can I find my emails from outlook 6 and how can I back them up?

I had the same problem awhile back on my system. I logged in as administrator and made a new profile, then while logged in I copied everything over from the old corrupted profile. I can not remember if my emails were kept but I do not use Outlook Express as my main email program. I use Eudora and those were there, but then again all the main programs will respond the same as they are not duplicated just the desktop etc...

Outlook Express 6 stores your e-mail in the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username goes here>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{9C083B5A-5193-4380-8BD8-DC7370F4260B}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

This is assuming you haven't changed it.

you need to unhide folders. open "my computer" at the top tools\folder options\view- show hidden files and folders.
good luck
