I unplugged my desktop for use on a different set of monitor, mouse and keyboard and now when switched it back and I log in with either username windows gives me an error that either I don't have enough privilege or the profile is corrupt. It then logs into this generic profile where all my files on my desktop, documents, etc are gone. I am running windows xp and if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
Thanks for your help!

You should be able to see your old profiles in C:\Documents and Settings\ and can just copy the files to the new one. (I believe the new profile it made for you will be called "user.001" or something like that.)

This won't do anything to correct any problem that may exist that caused the corruption in the first place, but at least will get your documents and such back.

There is not a new profile made for the temp account. When I go into documents and settings all the files are gone....
