Corrupt MFC42.DLL

When I try to plat a DVD I get the message D:\MFC42.Dll appears to be corrupt, re install the file and try again. What's wrong, and how do I fix it? Thanks........

Replace MFC42.dll in your windows\system directory with a new one. You can grab it from the Office2K CD or something.

If you re-installed, that would have corrected files on your C:\ drive. Your error message refers to your D:\ drive. Just a thought....

Yes, I know. I've posted the same problem on the Technical board too. I brought that up, but it was dismissed by the guys who were trying to help. I think it's a hardware problem, any thoughts?

Update 1615 Hrs.. I pulled the drive out and put in another machine. While I don't have a decoder card for the computer, the drive did install the DVD viewing software. I did NOT get that D:/ MFC42.Dll is corupt message. So where can this conflict be?
