Some body help me please I wanted to get rid of flopy drive it has made me felt embarassed a lot so I bought this flash drive about 6 months ago I've already thrown my flopy but lately i came to know that my128mb flash couldn't boot.

I needed a mainboard driver update so idownloaded the update borrowed my friend's flopy drive checked it thrice(Believe me I knew how unreliable it can be)finaly when i upgraded it said it was not my mainboard's bios it was for Revision 5 mine is 7.(i.e P4S5MG/GL+ Rev 7.0)

The same board with different revisions the message was BIOS Tag is different press enter to continue I pressed enter the text became red and //// appeared

and I restarted the computer thinking that it might be doing a corrupt bios update.and now my system doesn't start.

P4 1.7Ghz,RADEON9000 64MB, 512MBSYS RAM , mainboard ECS P4S5MG/GL+ (Rev 7)

CPU fan runs but no display nothing atall system complete halt!!!
Your suggetions desperately needed

Clear your CMOS (Move jumper to 2-3 and pull out battery for a minute or so, then put the pin back to 1-2 and replace it).

If that doesn't work...
Dunno man.... ask ECS for a new Bios chip. That's all I can think of

OUCH!

Unfortunately, you are probably going to have to eat that motherboard. It sounds like it's toast. Doing a bios update (especially on an older mobo) is risky business. I always tense up and cross my fingers that there will be no brownouts when I update. The only thing that you could do is to send the motherboard back to the manufacturer for repair (I doubt it's worth the time and money though).

You should be able to find a replacement ECS mobo for really cheap.

Good Luck!

You will need to create a floppy disk to try and reflash your BIOS. The instructions should be on your mobo mfr's web site - but usually the procedure is to get the DOS BIOS flashing program and the BIOS file from the mfr's web site (often bundled together in a .zip file) > create a DOS boot floppy disk > create an Autoexec.bat file that has the flashing command line in it (sometimes the mfr has one already made that you can DL) > copy the flashing program, the BIOS data file and the autoexec.bat file all to the boot floppy. Put the diskette in the drive of the affected machine - power up and cross your fingers and toes...

Good luck!
