Corrupt CD-R's

I'm trying to burn a VCD onto a CD-R, and I can see all the root directories, but it tells me everything is corrupt. I'm using an Acer CDR (12x8x32x) with 12x capable CDR's and the Nero ASAPI or ATAPI or whatever it's called (atleast I think I am) with Nero 5.5.7.8.

Any ideas?
 
I have nero 5.5 also, thou have never done VCDs. It will yell at you if you try to put a corrupt MPG file in the file list, or does the problem come when you try and burn (meaning the mpg is ok)?
