I also posted this question in "highly technical" but thought it might be more appropriate here:
I have a DFI AK76-sn Rev. B mobo and I was having problems installing an AMD XP 1600+ processor. I thought it might be the bios, so I tried to flash the bios to ak760304.bin. However, now my system will not even post, and I get a checksum error. I am pretty sure this is due to a faulty BIOS flash, and my understanding is that I have to physically replace the chip.
Is this correct, or is there any other way to reprogram the BIOS?
Is the board manufacturer the only place to get the correct chip?
Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.
