Hey guys,

So I'm wanting to upgrade my video card for BF3 and placed an order for a GTX 560 Ti from Newegg yesterday and I should be receiving it on Monday.

I just wanted to ask here to make sure that I have the correct procedure down for swapping out video cards.

- Uninstall old drivers by going to "Add/Remove Programs" -> and uninstall "NVIDIA Drivers".
- Shut down computer, unplug, open up, and remove old card.
- Insert new card, close up, plug in, and start computer
- Insert disc / go to Nvidia website and download latest drivers

Sound about right?

I actually just installed the latest Nvidia drivers this past Wednesday. Do I still have to uninstall and then reinstall them?

Thanks!

You should be fine. Newer cards are a lot more forgiving with just installing new drivers over the old ones.

You have the same procedure I have successfully used many times before. I am not a believer of the necessity of safe mode reboots (usually can't modify software installs in safe mode anyways), driver sweeper, etc. If the normal procedure doesn't work (never failed on my personal computers), reinstall Windows.

If you were on a lower model of the 5xx series already, you almost definitely would not need to do anything but change the hardware. I am not sure whether the installer uses different driver files/binaries but I would just follow your procedure.
