Well myself (drew) and ag nitrate(brian) went to purdue's linux user group meeting for some free food and the chance to win a solaris machine that I so desperately needed. After installing debian on a few machines, (mostly red hate
) we noticed a sign for "FREE computer parts" from a consulting firm that was going under. Brian and I looked at each other and said oh hell yes let's go. So we got another guy there with a huge flatbed truck to go with us to this place about 3 miles away. In all we picked up about 10 monitors, 6 cases (one a huge old IBM server case that is so badass which I kept) 2 complete pentium machines, 5 handfulls of IDE cables, ton's of old memory, 5 motherboards complete with processors, 50 keyboards, 5 old mice, 10 or so NICs, ton's of mounting hardware, a huge box of cat5 cable, an old AGP video accelerator, and ton's of other random stuff that I cannot even remember. I felt like PAB taking such a huge amount of stuff for free, it was awesome. We had tons of fun doing this, and seeing all those geeks faces light up with the prospect of free stuff. We were the heros of the day
