Corporate Avenger - FREEDOM IS A STATE OF MIND!

LordMaul

Lifer
Anyone else listen to this band? They aren't really very popular as far as I can tell, less-so than Kottonmouth Kings, who seem to be even less popular than other bands I have listened to(ICP, Twiztid, ABK, Jumpsteady, etc.) though they're in a much more 'hardcore' category than any of those.

They have awesome music, fitting lyrics, and a good message IMHO. For the most part, anyway...now, I suppose I'm a bit of a paradox breaker, as I don't even remotely fit the stereotypical listener of this kind of music. I'm a (primarily) trance/electonica listener, and am a Christian guy since I was old enough to understand religion, etc. 🙂 I guess a lot of this is because I'm not easily offended, I can appreciate humor from whoever and whatever it comes from if it's actually funny, and I don't try to push anything on anybody or even make it evident just to up the pressure, if you know what I mean.

Basically, these guys are a pretty hard band that are posing an unrelenting attack on mainstream consciousness, covering corporate greed, government corruption, false histories taught as fact, drugs, and law enforcement, with an added bit on religion and people using religion as excuses for murder and crime. I recommend this album(Freedom is a State of Mind) for any open-minded athiest, agnostic, Jew, Christian, etc. that is interested in something that puts it all right out in the open and doesn't hold anything back...with a little bit of humor here and there if you look for it.

So, back on topic...any fellow fans here?

The fact that you referred to Kottonmouth Kings and ICP as music totally made me not want to check this band out.

OK, well, whatever you say...these guys aren't the same as either of them, but if you can't handle ICP then you sure as hell couldn't handle these guys.

hardcore what? metal, punk, polka...?

The music itself is mostly metal, but has some electronic and heavy bass in a few songs as well. The lyrics are a combination between punkish-rap style. It's all kind of hard to describe, as I usually don't listen to this kind of music.

I listen to them, I like a lot of their songs. I have...(checking winamp)...about a dozen of their songs.

I'm suprised no one else here has heard of them.

edited so it wouldnt sound stupid

They seem to be pretty uncommon for whatever reason, considering they seem to be just what a lot of people around here would listen to. The music, at least, but some might be easily offended by the message/lyrics of a lot of their stuff...

yeah, i think some people around here would like them if they gave it a chance. At school i knew this kid who was an atheist and was always complaining that he was fed up with overly religious folk pressing their views, so i had him listen to some of their songs (jesus christ homosexual, bible is bullshit, etc). He laughed hysterically. good times...

Songs like those are very interesting things that make you think about the way you think of religion. For J.C. Homosexual, it's obviously a stretch and is explained in the bible WHY gay people are possible, and the song is just kind of silly. But "Bible is Bullshit" is really something that makes you think. Obviously, someone like me or other Christians aren't going to go along with and/or believe the title, but many valid points are raised within the song if people would just give it a chance.
