Cornerstone p1460 19in Monitor Review

The specs for the cornerstone p1460 can be found at www.monitorsdirect.com. I paid about ~$466 shipped for this monitor. I've been carefully examining the image quality of this monitor the past few days & it is 93% of what I dreamed it would be. It provides a SHARP, CLEAR, PRECISE, ACCURATE image & now text reading is EASY ON THE EYES & enjoyable. Some of you might notice that some monitors tend to emit a lot of rays that affect your face in peculiar ways. I can sit in front of thismonitor for days. The 1600X1200 res was slightly blurry, but this could be attributed to my Vid Card (Geforce 256 DDR). The first odd thing I noticed was the plastic corners of the back of the monitor had rough edges, that weren't exactly molded together like my previous Viewsonic monitor. However, construction is solid & the monitor was very easy to install. My favorite aspect of the monitor is the menu user control interface, which is extremely intuitive, simple to use, & effective. No wierd sounds or inconsistent foci regions of this monitor have been found yet. The screen flatness is excellent also. Am I glad I bought this monitor? YES, YES & yes. Is there a better 19inch Shadow Mask monitor that I would prefer if money were no concern? No, I specifically bought this monitor because it was the best one I could find for my needs: sharp image, easy reading of text. I plan to write another review a month from now using Display Mate & reporting anything else I feel will help someone in purchasing their next 19inch monitor. This monitor was the solution to my LONG search for the perfect 19inch monitor. I want this thread to be used to answer any questions from anandtechers. (pics were not included because my webcam pic quality is BAD) cheers.

The reason it is blurry on your geforce 256 DDR is because you probably don't have the right resolution and refresh rate combo.

If I ran a P1460 with a Geforce DDR I would use 1152x864 @ 85hz. Test it out by changing the settings. It's very clear for me and it should be for your case too despite the fact I cut a capacitor filter. If you must use 1280x1024 then try 75hz resolution.

1280 X 768 resolution at 98/120khz refresh rate. 32bit color. Screen is very clear & i can stare at it for days. 🙂. I really notice a difference when going above 85khz refresh rate. I dont get eye strain at all, i really like this monitor the more I use it 🙂. I tried 1600X1200 at 75, the image seeme a litter more defined, but everything was way to small, my eyes were strained, and it was still noticeablly blurry. Thanks for the info though.
