Check This,

A CORNEA CT1700 17" (Black or White) for $379.88

J&R

Or the CORNEA MP704 17" for $379.88

Now, the only difference between the CT1702T and the CT1700 is "basically" the TV Tuner, so if you don't want the TV Tuner -and you want to save some money- the CT1700 is the trick. What a kick monitor, and a good price. Check the specs.

PS. The specs at J&R are wrong they say only 400:1 contrast ratio! It IS 500:1 (typically)

Good post Oops! What a great monitor, and I just happened to be looking at them just now! What a coincidence!

There's no real standard to measure response time.. I always look for real reviews for response time and pay no attention to the numbers. I had a philips 17" with 35ms response time and it was great for gaming.. then i tried another lcd with 25 response time and it was horrible for gaming..

Yes, i have one and i can say i'm pretty happy with it. I would say pixel response is about the same as my 191T. Ghosting is minimal on games and it scales well on lower resolutions. It is really bright and sharp , i had to tone it down to 60-70% to get acceptable brightness for my eyes. On Analog VGA, it pretty much sucks because i can see it pretty blurry. On DVI, however, it really rocks. TV Tuner works really good and picture quality looked better than my AIW 9700 Pro card hooked up to my other pc. However i have a gripe about it: The vertical viewing angle is a mere 55 degree U/D.

the one @ J&R doesnt have DVI input. i'd pay $40 more for DVI.

i just realized the CT1702T also has a TV Tuner! definitely worth $40 more than than the CT1700.

With all these cross deals being advertised by various posters,
maybe someone needs to start a consolidated thread devoted to LCD deals.

Don't overlook the fact that this also has S-video and RCA inputs, so you can hook up just about anything to it.

Plus it has both analog and DVI outputs, which seems hard to find on LCD's in this price range.

I also posted on the "other" Cornea forum:

Yeah guys, great posts. Looks like the extra $40 is worth the TV Tuner and the DVI, the CT1702 is probably the one to go with.

The Cornea MP704B 17" at $319.99 (amazon) although IS a good price. Yeah from what I hear these monitors are awesome looking. I have never seen one in person myself.

I want one now.

there seems to be some question on the actual specs of this monitor. the cornea website states a 20ms response time but buy.com has 25ms. i also saw the 25ms somewhere else and differing contrast ratio numbers. im not sure if id be better off buying a 16ms response monitor like the viewsonic 171b and then getting a $50 leadtek tuner card for a little more.

Not bad.. I have the Samsung 170MP (17" analog LCD, with TV tuner), I paid a buttload for it a couple years ago. I've been happy with it, but if I get another I would definitely want DVI.

Now, only if they would drop the NTSC tuners, and start using ATSC (HDTV) tuners.

The CT1700 does NOT have a DVI connection. Just a heads-up! And it looks like the price is now $449 after rebate.

seems the CT1700 has built-in speakers, while the CT1702T or the MP704B does not.
