I would say thats a issue for sure. Does your BIOS show the correct CPU on bootup? Does the BIOS version you are running support that CPU|

Well i have gone from duals to quads before with no issues but have seen it posted that sometime it requires a windows reinstall. I would wait for some more advice before doing that as a last resort though.

Also,
someone else had a similar issue with a q6600

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/2...-applications-recognizing-quad-core-processor

Ok, the recognition of the 4 cores is resolved. I had to unistall the cores on the device manager and resintall new drivers for the CPU.

Tried this, didn't work
and

Worked. I enabled SpeedStep and magically they have appeared.

There's no speedstep option I see in the bios option for my board though...

Sometimes people will check # of processors and set it . Default is left blank.

emblem, because your ss shows device manager with 4 cores indicates this is a windows config problem. Are you familiar with BCDEdit?

Run BCDEdit from a cmd box with Admin priv's and enter the following
Code:
bcdedit /set {current} numproc 4

Reboot
