Ok what does core temp actually read tempature wise.
When I was using my gigabyte extreme motherboard My temps were between 25 and 32
Now I am using the evga 760 and my temps are around 35 and 43.
I have some experience placing thermal paste down so i am sure thats not the problem.
So my question is does core temp read only the cpu temp or does it do a mixture of cpu northbridge and ram chipsets or any other chipsets.
If I go into the bios it states cpu temp is at 30ish
EDIT:: I think coretemp is reading at least two items
1. processor temp
2. mainboard temp
Now if I am right if I oc this system will only the processor temp go up or will both of them go. I dont know if oc affects the mainboard temp.
I have already oc the ram to 1600 timings 8 8 8 24. (havent messed with timings yet just made should I was running at 1600 instead of 1066 like with the gigabyte board.
I am running the evga 760 now and I love it. It seems as if the gigabyte had some better heat distrabution but the settings in the evga are very nice.
