Um...

Lapping is okay, especially with these chips -- even recommended!

However, IHS removal is EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS to the health of your CPU -- any CPU for that matter -- so, don't even consider it!!!

Yup, the guy lost his proc from doing that. I swear that if it had worked for him, I would've followed as well 😀.

Not that I would do it or even recommend it, but I have seen a couple of guys do it successfully. If I remember right they got about a 3 degree drop woohoo!

🙁This is not a a lapping guide. A lapping guide would describe how to lap a C2D. This review just shows you the result of a lap and how to destroy your C2D by removing the IHS. It's really a "How to ruin your C2D by removing your IHS" GUIDE. What a waste of time!

There has to be a better way to remove the IHS than with a blowtorch.

Maybe they should make some without the IHS for enthusiasts. Old processors didn't have them and most people were able to install them without breaking anything.
