Core Temperatures

hey all,

Question: Whats a typical core temperature for a AMD XP 2600?

My computer seems to operate at a fairly stable core temp of 54 deg Celcius this seems fairly high to me. I'm trying to figure out of my cooling system on my chip is working

Came up with a second question and I'll just tack it on here instead of a new thread

Question: If i had a bad power supply could it in turn damage other components?

I know my PSU is bad, the caps have leaked (brown goo on several and one with a .5" yellowish hat) but now i'm getting minor errors in other areas, like the voltages are reading bad and i think i just lost a video card. Does this seem plausible, also if i think my mobo is damadged but things seem to be working "alright" do i need to replace it ASAP or can i push it?

Yes, it could damage things. Turn it off now and get a new one. Now.

Stick with a good brand name one as well. It'll save you a little money on your power bill, as well as a lot of headaches.

OK here's the good word from the program designed to monitor my MOBO,

My MOBO if A-OK. Was using speed fan to look at my voltages and it was saying my 3.3 was 1.45 thus i was worried. I DL'ed Epox's USDM and it says my Vagp is 1.45 V, and my 3.3 is 3.35 V, My MOBO is ok my PSU is scrap, thinking i may go pick up a SUREPOWER 450W. I think my video card just went bunk as well but thats between me and Powercolor, damn video card shouldn't fail after 9 months.

any one know about a typical operating temp?

I like to see it idle in the 30's. 54C is hot, but no cause for worry.
