Core temp on P3V4X with socket converter?

I've installed a no-name cheapo FCPGA to Slot1 converter in my Asus P3V4X board.
(600E to 800EB)

How do I know what the correct readout temperature of my cpu-core is?
Motherboard Monitor does seem to read out values on sensor 'Asus 2' that appear reasonable, and changing with cpu-load.

Idle: 51C, load:63C

Where is this sensor that measures this temp?

Thanks

The Asus P3V4X uses the thermal diode within the cpu(found on all .25 micron pII cpu's upwards) ,this gives a fast reacting temp response & high accuracy with a Slot1 cpu. With a slocket though ,especially aheap one this can throw out the temp readings though.
I used to have a cheapo slocket on my board (not Asus) when I replaced it with an Asus 133 slocket it lowered my temp readings by 4-5C! ,& made the reading more stable too. :).
63C is rather high even for full load ,though you could be getting inaccurate readings.
Have you at least checked that MBM temps match your bios temps?
What cooling do you have?

I use a Golden Orb (the FCPGA version, works fine on the converter).

The temp on full load is impossible to check in the BIOS, because it cools so fast once you quit the load, but the idle temp is pretty much okay, slightly higher in the BIOS.

Your temps are not that bad. My 600E@800 1.75v runs about 56°C under load. Intel max spec is about 83°C and you are WELL under that.

Doh! ,that'll teach me for rushing that post! ,I had meant to say that your temps whilst they ARE rather high it is still within Intels specs.
I also meant to say that you should use your idle cpu temps to compare with your bios ,which you've done anyway :)
Another thing is that the P3V4X seems to give higher cpu temps than other boards which also use the thermal diode even when using the SAME cpu.
This forum should be of interest to you. It's dedicated to the P3V4X
