Hi guyz,

I tried this software and tried to install it on my HTPC that does not have internet connection. The software is coretemp cpu monitor. --> http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

When I tried to install it says the install could not be made due to no internet connection. I tried this at work computer and installed fine. Should I copy the installed directory (C:\program files\core temp) and paste it in my HTPC at home? Would that work? Gimme solution thanks.

No, windows 7. It's a Core Temp software downloaded from the site. It installed fine on work machine that has internet access. It does not install at home PC that does not have internet.

There may be additional files that are dumped into the system type folder.

Once you copy the app directory and try to start the app; you should get a error stating that such a file is missing. Copy that file and continue.

Or contact the site and explain the issue

CPU-Z Free, it rocks.

Can't imagine you would have any issues installing and running it.
That's what I used / use for CPU clocks memory timing but it doesn't give you CPU temp which is what i'm looking for. :\

thanks for the alternatives though.

Sigh. I am not understanding this server blocking thingy and its Draconian settings at all.

What kind of network is this system on??? I thought you said it was your home PC, no?

I'm at work right now. It's in a domain in the network. It may be the web filtering software from our server. :D At home I can't download anything as I got no internet access.

Ahah! K, well first, how anyone can live without access to the net at home, and everywhere.... I do not know.

So, what U R trying to do, is get this app, burn it to a CD and take it home and install it there to monitor yr temps?

If so, and this Fascistic server at work is preventing that.....how about a friend who has normal access to the net?

Edit: New thoughts: can U boot this work computer into Safe Mode with networking and see if the server backs off for downloading?

Do you or someone U know have a lappy you can use in a hot spot?

Edit: Sorry, I am have a day of lameness. Just read yr original post again and I finally get it. MAYBE. You have already tried to install the app from, I guess a CD you made to yr home system, and it would not install there cause no net....and, U wanna know how you can get around this.

It that is right, and not even sure it is.....I have no clue at all.

I don't have money to pay for the internet.... as I spent all on power cables for audio. I'm broke. :\

that's correct.:)

Guys, got it working! Copying and pasting the installed directory from the work computer to my home PC worked flawlessly. Simply pasted the Core Temp folder into Program Files and voila!

Once I got in the app I disabled the automatic updates and other junk that need connection to internet.

It is nice when software apps do not spread themselves all over the system.

On the link you provided in the OP, click on "More Downloads", then click on the desired link to the right of: Download the standalone version of Core Temp: 32 Bit 64 Bit

This will give you a ZIP file rather than an exe. zip files usually have better luck getting past corporate domain antivirus false positive bs compared to actual executable files.

I don't have issue downloading the Core Temp at work. It's the link for the SpeedFan app Virgorizing linked I could not download due to blockage.

It's all good now. The Core Temp works great at home PC. My cpu temp showing at 28C. :D

CONGRATS! THAT....IS NO SMALL THING!!! Triumphs are relative within someone's perspective, and, sometimes, what some might think are little ones are anything but!!!!

No shame at all in not being able to afford something......I always wonder how so many member here can easily afford the systems whose specs they list.....and what they consider worthless and outdated.

Good job! Tenacity rocks!
