Cool

I really like CoreTemp, especially when it comes to monitoring CPU temps with AMD processors.

Definitely some nice additions/fixes... start-up speed is very noticeable, I haven't tested accuracies, but it's a bit more of a toss-up between CoreTemp and RealTemp now.

I get identical results between Coretemp and Realtemp on my Intel rigs, as expected since they both read the same on-die sensors outputs.

So for Intel rigs it basically comes down to personal preference for the GUI (realtemp actually makes it easier to see current temps in screenshots IMO because of the larger font), and things like data logging (coretemp is superior here IMO as it creates a new file for each log instance whereas realtemp appends new data to a single existing log file).

But realtemp doesn't work for AMD cpus, so really coretemp is the way to go for AMD chips. And if you have both, as I do, then you also want coretemp just to harmonize all your efforts and know-how.

One thing I like about RealTemp is that it can be run from a thumbdrive - makes it handy when troubleshooting other peoples' PCs.

That being said, I really do feel that CoreTemp is superior.

Can the stand alone version of core temp not do this?

It can, and does.

Maybe p4ck3tl055 doesn't have experience with the stand-alone (zip) version and has only used the installer version?

I use the standalone versions of both, they work great.

Great now I can monitor my Phenom II 1035T in my PLEX server on the go :D
Please, report how it works on Android, as I have exactly the same setup (my Android toy is out of order at the moment).

The only "drawback" if you can say so, is the lack of support for the older/ancient processors. It doesn't display temperatures of my Northwood/Tualatin CPUs, for instance. AIDA64 is still the way to go if you need wider compatibility. RealTemp as idc pointed out above, has the worst compatibility. CoreTemp is the golden middle at the moment, now it's worth having as a startup item (RC4 had atrocious delays).

p4ck3tl055 has terrible eyesight - because he couldn't read the small print that says "More Downloads" on the Coretemp site - until today.

I was completely unaware of a stand-alone version. Thank you for pointing it out to me IDC.

Weird issue that I'm not sure is just specific to my rig. For some reason running Core Temp causes DPC latency spikes. No idea why it would be doing this but it definitely is Core Temp that is causing it. Peaks at 1399 using DPC Latency Checker.

Wont read any of my temps, and insists on trying to install Yahoo crap even after I've deselected it.

Bah.

Love CoreTemp for monitoring core loads compared to CPU-z (which only shows it one at a time).

CoreTemp + CPU-Z + IBT + Prime95 - standard OC toolkit :)
