Voltage looks pretty high, what's the Max voltage you're supposed to give i7?

Voltage is too high for my tastes, I prefer to keep Intel 45nm below 1.45V max.

I saw a post on 940 being clocked to 4.4 on air a few days ago, so even this was on LN2, I don't think I really care.

Then that should be touted, not this 5GHz BS that no one can ever hope to really use. Of course I'm also doubting that 4.4 as being stable (and thus usable) so even then...

dude, overclocking a CPU isn't about being useful its about bragging rights. Kinda like bodybuilding its about taking a good ideas as far as you can. Maybe it don't make sense, but its still damn impressive to see (actually TBH only getting 5GhZ really ain't that impressive).

Recently I've seen 4ghz @1.34v, which if true is quite impressive: http://www.awardfabrik.de/forum/showthread.php?t=5056

thats actually pretty standard for the core 2 duos. you're lucky to get a quad to 4 on air though these days (heat becomes an issue), but it isnt hard either with a good water loop
