core i7 920 stock idle temp check

helped my friend set up his new 920 build. With the stock cooler he is getting 56'ish C.

That seemed kind of hot to me. Should we reset the heatsink?

What's the room ambient?
Those temps do sound a tad high to me, tho i'm no expert.
I'm running a 920 w/a Noctua NH-U12P cooler & my temps are in the mid 40's w/a room ambient of 33c. It's also running @ 3.7GHz.
I haven't fired up P95 to see how ridiculous the temps go then, however.

Ambient is room temp isn't it? 33C = 91.4F, that's one toasty room.

56C seems awfully high for idle. You sure he put the paste on right? Reseating the HSF isn't a bad idea either. Only other thing i can think would be a case with terrible air flow.
