Just built a new rig for a friend, and I'm having troubles overclocking this setup. Ram is the Corsair Dominator 8gb 8/8/8/24 (2x2x2x2gb) kit if that matters.

The main issue is that I can't seem to change the voltages on things like the CPU and RAM, even when following other peoples guides for the same CPU/mobo setup -- they are stuck on Auto. I also can't change the CPU Clock Ratio at all.

Then the secondary issue was after making some tweaks and rebooting, it refused to post -- forcing me to pull the bios battery to reset. Doesn't this board come with dual bios or such to prevent this? It's a major PITA to reset the bios, because I have to yank the GPU to get the battery out. Normally I run Giga-byte boards for my own systems, so I guess I take for granted this is a feature?

1301 firmware revision btw -- only one newer is a 1400-something revision from 11/09/10 that fixes an issue unrelated to our problems.

I have the LX version and it suddenly stopped posting this morning. The fans just start and stop including the PSU fans.

Did you go to the A.I. Tweaker menu and change A.I. Overclock Tuner line item from Auto to "Manual" ? Once you do that I think it frees up pretty much every line item.

Yeah I did have it set to Manual, thats why its puzzling. For some reason I can't change it.

Also: Is it normal for Asus boards to not be recoverable from non-posting settings other than to pull the Bios battery? My Giga-byte board has a dual bios, so if it can't post it just reverts to the previous settings.
