Which is better for gaming? with GTX660ti

I would personally spend up a little and get a 3570K for this setup...yes, it will be pushing $400 but it uses far less power than Vishera and will perform a little better in games. Most games aren't heavily threaded yet.

you can find some z77 boards for under $100...
in that case you can use the 3350p at around 3.8GHz, which is quite fast, and usable with the stock HSF I think...

Core i5 3350P is at 3.1GHz with MAX turbo at 3.3GHz, it can OC to 3.5GHz with multi and close to 3.6GHz raising the bus to 103MHz.

I would still go for the FX8320 and OC to 4.2GHz with default cooler.

How about i get a FX8350 @ 4.2GHZ and get a basic 760G chipset Asus M5A78L-M LX because im not familiar with OCng CPUs would that suffice?

If you going for the FX8320 get a 970 chipset, otherwise go for the Core i5 3550p and H77.

Asus M5A78L-M LX only supports 95W CPUs, you cannot install the FX8320. Also you will not have USB 3 and 710 south-bridge only supports SATA-II (3Gb/s).

You can also go for the FX6300 + ASUS M5A97 R2.0. You can OC to 4.2GHz (just raise the multiplier) and you set to go. At 4.2GHz it will be just fine for the GTX660Ti.

Measure on fps based upon benchies at this forum's site for 8320 vs 3470 the Intel wins in gaming.

normally it would be 31x+5x, but on this CPU I don't know

he claim to have achieved 3.88GHz

maybe it's 37x only for single/dual thread load?
5.90 on CB11.5 would be the score for 3.88 or lower?

I think it's better to go with b75 ($50-80), or z77 (around $100)
