hey folks ...im upgrading from amd opteron 1.8 ghz on asus a8n32 sli deluxe(socket 939 ancient )....i never oc'd so i prolly wont do that now...i game everyday with cod4...hoping to play Farcry 2, CoD5 and my current cpu isnt gonna get it done...Core Duo Wolfdale 8400 was recommended but unsure about a compatible mobo that i can run xp with 4 gigs of memory...i have a new OCZ power supply with 700 watts and WD Raptor (36g) and Caviar (80g)...also Thermaltake (Cool All Your Life) full sized case with (2) 90mm and (2) 120mm...my monitor is a 19 viewsonic so resolution is limited for now but could get upgrade that as well in near future....if anyone has a suuggestion..id very much appreciate any time taken to poiint me in the right direction...i realize this may be a redundant topic and sorry for that but ill be 60 years this next year and my eyes arent so good so i thought id ask after doing some searching with no results for my particular situation....again thanks for your time

Will you be considering a second GPU down the road? If so, you will need an Nvidia chipset board. If not, an Intel P35 or 45 board will be fine. Even a low end one.
 
ok thanks very much...prolly not gonna run 2 cards for awhile, ill likely upgrade whole system when i can afford to that, but this upgrade should help me play fps mp games, again thanks for your time BTRY
