core duo vs c2d notebooks

i'm thinking about getting a current core duo laptop. however, with c2d coming out, i'm wondering if i should wait for that. the biggest factor for me would be the price... how much more would a laptop with c2d be compared to a current core duo laptop (assuming most major components are the same, i.e. memory, graphics, etc.)?

and according to them the difference is up to 20% in speed gain while using slightly less power (6%).

It's a nice boost, but nothing like the improvement going from a P4 to a core 2 desktop.

Personally I'm waiting for Santa Rosa in Q107. 800MHz dynamic FSB, maybe 802.11n/WiMAX, GMA X300, supa sweet 😀

thanx for the input guys. but i was wondering how much more money it would cost... does anyone have any idea how much more $ it would cost for a c2d laptop coming out this season?

unfortunately, i can't wait for the Santa Rosa platform because i'll be needing one for an upcoming business trip in a couple of months.

thanx again
