Core Duo T2050 dynamic speedstep

I just got a toshiba core duo laptop and have noticed in CPUID that the speed changes from ~795mhz to 1600mhz depending on whats running. Theres an option in the bios to keep it always at 795mhz but there seems to be no option to always keep it at 1600mhz...anyone know how to disable this speedstep feature so that i can always have it running at full power? thanks

the laptop is always plugged in when i use it so i really have no need to conserve power on it. Also...it seems a bit sluggish when launching applications and such so i was just trying to test if keeping it at full speed would help or not

well it should dynamically clock up when you are running applications. try changing your power management scheme in windows to Always On.

Well I've never noticed any slowness with AMDs Cool n' Queit, I would assume Intel's Speedstep would be just as good.

There may be some applications that can override it.
