i havve an AMD64 3000+ on a MSI K8N neo board, socket 754...the memory is cheapo 3-3-3-8 at 200Mhz and 2.5-3-3-7 at 166Mhz...with memory at 200, when setting the core cell overclocker to highest, XP fails to load...i have used nTune 2.0 to optimize graphics which gives a Hypertransport link of 920 Mhz and an AGP bus of 79 Mhz, HT Link Multiplier at 4x, but will reboot or crash on playing a game...so besides new memory, i`d like to know some optimal seetings for oc`ing that won`t fry me or corrupt the bios...

Your CPU is not stable at 230 on current Vcore(v1.?).
Using memory divider will solve memory problem.

79MHz AGP is insane...you're likely to cause some serious damage to your video card. Also, if it's like most, that means you're running close to 40MHz PCI, which also isn't good. Engage your AGP lock, and keep it at 66MHz. It will be MUCH safer on your hardware. Could lead to data corruption and all sorts of unsavory things.

obviously i am a complete noob at oc`ing...i only used that AGP setting a couple of times and more or less gave it up after crashing...hope i haven`t done any damage...everything works fine at normal settings, ie. no oc`ing, so i don`t think there is any damage...wheere is the agp lock...?

Go into BIOS and set the AGP frequency at 66 and the PCI at 33; THEN try things and see how it goes. You don't need better ram, as the dividers work fine on A64s - see Zebo's guide in this forum.
