Core 2 System, $600

Here is my current Newegg wishlist....I am going to build a system for $600, and if I forget anything, please remember this is an individual PC, with no upgrades or old parts whatsoever. Except for my 6800 AGP card. I play CS 1.6, Warcraft III, Guild Wars, and Dark Messiah: Might and Magic. I also do some video editing and moviemaking. Most multitasking i will ever do is run videomach, cs 1.6, winamp, windows movie maker, all at once. If you can build a system better for my needs, that would be awesome, thanks

IMHO I think you'd be better off saving up a little more and putting more focus on a better video card to play those games. If you're going to get a new mobo, might as well make it pcie... of course for a faster GPU you'd probably need to get a better PSU too...

I would go for a cheaper processor with a better motherboard and PCI-E graphics card. That will give you better performace in games.

Better off buying a Dell E6300 Dimension 9200/E520 system for $550ish (check hot deals). You get pretty much all the above (except with a better case/motherboard) and a P965 PCI-E board for better upgradeability. The obvious downside is no overclocking, and you're more or less stuck with the P965 board/case combo. It would also require you selling the 6800 AGP, but you can probably pick up a much better 7600GT PCI-E for slightly more than you can sell your 6800 AGP.

Interesting, since this game wont hit the stores for another 3 weeks at least.

And the demo doesn't count, since it's all movie and very little gameplay

*scratches head*

DEFINITELY get the Dell 9200 deal from their Small Business site. $529 for components as good or better than what you have. EBay your 6800 for $50-$100, and wait a few weeks for nVidia to release their new GPU, then grab an older model at a discount.
