Core 2 Extreme QX6700, now or monday after 3:00 p.m.??

I'm inviting a bit of speculation. I have a job that will see a scaled benefit going to a Kentsfield proc next week -a large batch of renders to crank out. I've been waiting out the initial price drop on the QX6700 until the job was actually about to start but still it floats right up where it started last november. Anyone care to hazzard a guess as to when we'll see it budge, the extra dough would be helpful in adding necessary RAM. I can almost smell the D'oh! in the air...

April is what I heard for Intel's next round of price cuts.

If your rendering workload can be distributed, why not make a couple of render nodes with some E4300s. I could build 2-3 for the same price as one quad.

I'm using distributed rendering now and having floating point related GI issues, so my hope is to set up one machine as a dedicated renderer and stay busy on my Opty 175 rig. I can live with a couple month buffer, as long as it's not a couple day buffer... I'm now wondering if the Feb 12th AMD cut will have even the slightest impact...not much of a stomach for gambling, just hoping to stave off the d'oh! effect. Thanks for the help.
