Core 2 Duo X6800, E6700 and E6600 benchmarks

their Game benchmarks are clearly so GPU limited (6800-6600 yield the same score?), even at low res. They should set quality to low. This is one of the areas Conroe should have the big lead (20-30%) according to many other previews.
Am I being dense or are they using 2Gigs of RAM in the Intel setups and only a Gig in the AMD one? Not trying to start anything evangelical, just wondered.

Reading through the comments in the link looks like that is not the only thing amiss. ATA/133 HDD in the AMD, SATA in the Conroe, that may not make much difference but why risk it? I mean if you can't trust them not to bias the hardware how can you trust them not to ah heck around in the BIOS?
Conroe looks pretty awesome and the price is right (particularly now that I may have enough cash to get one instead of an 805D), I just hate this kind of nonsense.

I did not notice the memory thing until you pointed it out thewilson. How could this be fair ? I think they messed up the whole benchmark doing so.
I'll bet they get to keep them on extreme long term loan.
Still whether conroe lives up to the hype or not it's begun a price war, which is going to work out very well for all of us.

Not surprising...I will wait for thorough reviews by Techreport and then AT to sum up the real story...
I agree.....that is oe of the sites I like to hang more at now...at least read and learm about dual cpu systems...
Hope they are wrong about the September release to channel date. I probably won't buy one until 2007 but it would be nice to just have it actually out already so we could definitively see how these stack up.
They did seem a bit biased towards Intel. Stating stuff like

What do they mean EVEN the X6800?!! Is that not the absolute best from Intel? Of course it is going to be faster than another Intel processor that is not even the top of the current line.

that's because you're a moron just like the site that published the review. In general you ALWAYS have to check their test setup and methodology, cause even reputable sites (e.g. HardOCP) sometimes use invalid comparisons. even AT sometimes use different drivversions because they show comparisons with older results which used a different driver version. Those hardware sites need to bite the bullet and REALLY do the full benchmarks again with the same components and settings, insteadof reusing old results, or comparing systems with different components just because it's "too much work" to do it all over again. Bite me morons
