I think that ddr2-420 actually performed less than ddr400 in general, and ddr2-533 was more or less the same, ddr2-667 widened the gap and ddr2-800 broke it open a little bit. I can imagine that ddr500 would perform almost as well has ddr2-667 (and then ddr600 would get upclose to ddr2-800
