Yeah it can help but it is not realistic. I think one should test their system like it would be everyday. I dont even like rebooting everytime I test a benchmark. I think it is cheating the score if you ask me. Your system will never be that optimal on a daily basis so what is the point? To brag about a score is usually the reason.

Most of my scores you see posted in the boards of mine usually have F@H multi cores always running. theoretically they should realease the cycles to the other apps but when we are talking about .x seconds it can make a slight difference.

Stay clear of advice from the full-time benchmarkers....their sole mission is usually not to use the PC but just to run short burst of benchmarks in a competition. They know all the tricks, cheats, and go arounds to irk a few more out of everything eventhough they may not even hold those settings consistently.
