is it possible that since i have my c2d 4300 overclocked about 850mhz that my graphics card is overheating and crashing the gpu as a result? i have to underclock the gpu/mem speed of the card and raise my agp voltage just to run games like fear/farcry/call of duty without having them crash. my gfx card gpu runs at 380mhz normally, but atitools shows that it gets artifacts at anything above 340mhz.

anyone think its because of the FSB overclock?

Could be a lot of things. As for a FSB OC affecting your AGP bus, depends how good your mobo's clockgen is at locking the AGP/PCI buses. I don't think AGP/FSB ratios have been an issue for a while but that might be different with hybrid platforms or a maker like Asrock who isn't directly targetting the enthusiast market.

As for other things, could be your memory, I recently had problems and spent all weekend troubleshooting them. Turns out it was 1 of my memory sticks going bad. Might also be your PSU or mobo not supplying enough juice to the right places under load, causing your AGP card to bear the consequences. Really hard to nail something like this down, but I'd start off with some utilities that will tell you voltage and bus frequencies. Run them in a 2nd monitor and check them while your system is under load.

I'd start with any utility provided with your motherboard. Then I'd try Asus' site (they make Asrock I think?) and see if there's any utility updates there. I'd also check the motherboard forum and run a search of your board. With any luck there'll be a thread with info from people who have the board along with some troubleshooting help.

There's 3rd party/freeware programs out there that may or may not work depending whether or not they support your board and the sensor/diode thingies that give temp/power/bus readings. I've been using Speedfan for this board but there's stuff like Motherboard Monitor etc. Even something like CPU-Z/CPU-ID should be able to tell you general stuff like actual bus frequencies.

Good luck!
