Anyone know the availibility of Acer 8215WLMi in Canada or a similar model?

also, right now its priced around 3000CND , a similarly dell built is around 1600 ... anyone can guess when the prices will stop dropping?

Core 2 Duo T7200+
15.4 WSXGA (1680 x 1050) OR 14.1 WXGA+ (1400 x 900)

Have you checked NCIX.com They're canadian based and might have something good. I'm searching for a whitebook myself that i can user configure. My first thought would be GPU if you need h264. Can the GMA950 do it? I can't recall at the moment, but i'm pretty sure the ati and nvidia solutions can, like the go7600 and up. and the 1600 and up. I would look at a compal hel80 or Asus Z96J for starters if you're intereted in a whitebook which you can fit in under 1600 with the 1600x1050 or equivelant screen. No one will be as cheap as dell, especially with coupons, but you have to pick your battles.. do you want some quality in the build, or the cheapest price possible? NCIX notebook barebones
I'm not sure if the Hel80 they have offers the screen you want, because there is two versions, one with a glossy 1280x and one with a matt 1600x costing about a 100us different. If you stay with acer the 5672wli has gotten many peoples attention, but it runs really hot, and I don't believe it has the screen you want
