Core 2 Duo in an old Intel 915G motherboard?

I have a spare Core 2 Duo (E4500) and a spare Intel D915GAV motherboard (http://reviews.cnet.com/motherboards/intel-desktop-board-d915gav/4507-3049_7-30960808.html) lying around. Is there any chance of them working together? The board came out long before the CPU did. It'll physically fit (LGA775 socket), just wondering what the "backwards compatibility" is on the Core 2 with the older Intel 915G chipset.

Its gotta be LGA775 compatible motherboard to work with your Core 2 chip.

There had been some oddball 865G DDR1 C2D boards. But 915s definitely won't work.
