Weird some sites still say 23rd and 24th over here.

Also can't believe how cheap the 805 is going to be, that will be like £50 over here, not that i would buy one.

lol, the launch date is moved up, but delivery dates are still the same, so only a select few retailers will actually have chips at this date, or even by the end of the month.

I need to see benches of an E6300 versus an X2 3800+ or 4000+ before I make any decisions.

Those prices are for the 1000+ qty distributor order. Add $20-$30 per proc. This is old news BTW. :)

The difference is in the stock clock speed, and the amount of L2 cache

Well, if they do move the launch day up (and it wouldnt suprise me if Intel did just to counter AMD's planned price cuts) I bet it'll just be more like a paper launch. Not enough supply to meet demand is what I'm guessing. Even if it is the 23rd the Conroe will be still hard to find. The launch day is meaningless really. Its how soon you can actuallyget a chip thats important to the user. Dates are more or less just PR ploys IMO.

Well, I think they do have the capacity to pull it off and the chips have been in production for while now since it takes like three months to go from wafer to chip. Well when AM2 launched I did not see any on newegg, for a couple of weeks, either so it would not suprise me.

They're just trying to dump Smithfields. With the 915 being as cheap as it is, I see no reason to get an 805 anyway.

Three cheers for Intel. This is good news. Good news indeed. But its from the Inq so who knows.

Yay, Conroe comes out next week, which means I'll finally be able to build my new rig. Anyone have news on Avaiability though? I kind of doubt that Intel will have problems spitting them out, they want this chip to become a quarter of their sales by the end of the year, that's a pretty high goal...

That behardware link was AWESOME.

A very informative page was the one that showed differences in L2 cache, FSB, and bandwidth, and the effect of those items on Core 2. The difference in L2 cache seems a bit less than I previously thought, and FSB doesn't seem to have much of an impact at all. More good news for me and my aspiring E4200 OC'ing plans.
