Should I spread the 3 strips of grease around? I figure once the CPU gets hot, maybe it gets spread out by itseslf.

agreed, if you're running stock speeds - the strips will 'melt' and blend into a good spread... but if you're really into it, get some Arctic Silver (or your other favorite thermal paste) and slather away (of course as instructed by the manual)
