Core 2 Duo and P3 Chip Size

Do anyone know if a C2D is the same size as a P3 chip? What I mean is the entire chip, not the core. Reason being, I was thinking of using a P3 cpu shim after taking off the IHS from a C2D.

No, the FC-PGA package from the P3 era is massive compared to LGA775.

It's got an edge length of 4.95cm vs 3.75cm.

Heh, yeah I was surprised how small c2d was, even compared to a64 is, when I was building a new comp for my sister. Just slightly bigger than a quarter.
