Typical story..........needs to be used from one end of the house to the other, upstairs and down stairs. It's a ranch house, so it's long. Plus would be nice to use out by the pool. Figured I get one of those multiple set phones so I can have one in the Kitchen/Living area and one in the bedroom. One down stairs in the shop would be nice too.

I'll probably go to Best Buy, already done some looking, unless someone has a better source.

What phone have you been happy with?

What ever you do get something that runs on the 5.4GHZ frequency range.

Too many 900mhz and 2.4GHZ things cause problems with my cordless phones. But then again I live under Navy controled air space so them planes like to cause my cordless phones to drop calls.

Yes, I said it, Cordless phones(not celluar) do drop calls.

Phones are cheap these days. Just get a few and have one in each room. We have a ranch, 1500 sq ft and all our phones work in the entire house. Some bases are in the basement, some in the main room, etc.

I just through about three of them in an effort to replace a broken one. The old one is five years old and the keypad didn't work right anymore. It was a GE and had excellent, crisp sound. I think I paid around $70 for a pair back then.

Beginning in January this year I set out to replace one of the broken ones. I started with a $10 Uniden I got at Walmart. It had no caller ID or any other frills. The problem is that there was an annoying hiss that came from it.

Next, I bought another GE phone for $25 from BestBuy. Again, it had an annoying hiss. Keep in mind that the five year old phone it replaced was crystal clear.

I returned the GE $25 dollar phone and bought a pair of 6.0 GHz GE phones for around $75 from BestBuy. Again, these produce an annoying hiss too. At this point I gave up and just kept these. I'm amazed that I can not buy a cordless phone that doesn't hiss and that doesn't sound as good as one that is five years old. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
