Hard to find, but there are some that use NiMH. I have Vtech that does, but not all have that feature. In my experience Vtech has always been the best w/ battery technology. They were one of the first to have a separate pack for the base so you could swap the packs when they fully discharged and avoide the whole memory effect alltogether. The NiMH model doesn't have swapable packs or a base that runs off battery during a power outage, which I sortof miss, but, the battery life is much better with NiMH so really all I miss is the battery in the base.
Siemens has it as well, some of their models actually use AA NiMH's, the vtech I has uses a battery pack. I picked it up at costco, 2.4GHz, w/ 2 handsets.
