Cordless Phone Question

Hello, I was thinking of buying today's woot but I have a question. I need one extra handset for a total of 3 phones. Two of the phones will be connected in two rooms on one circuit through the house. However, the third handset will be on a seperate circuit, will that phone still work? I know the handsets go through the power lines, so it would seem to me that they would need to be on the same circuit, correct?

go through the power lines? not exactly....

you put the base + one handset on the phone line (plus ac power), then the other two can go anywhere else (in range), you just need to have them plugged in to the ac power, no phone line...it's radio (5.8ghz), not through the power lines

Wow thanks for clearing that up! I always thought they went through your electrical lines through your house. I did not know it searches for the signal! Thanks again
