When the cordless phone is first answered, my laptop looses connection. After a second or 2 it will reconnect with the phone still in use. Does anyone know any tricks to avoid the interference?
Get a 5.8G phone. Both are on 2.4G now. I have similar but lesser problem with mine.
If I upload , the phone is so garbled you cant understand a thing.

Long shot, but try a different channel - 1 (2412MHz) or 11 (2462MHz) would be your best shots. The 2.4GHz cordless can be anywhere from 2400MHz to 2483.5MHz
Get a new Panasonic DECT 6.0 (or any DECT 6.0 phone although Panasonics are great). They run on 1.9GHz and don't interfere with the networks at all. They also have great range and clarity (at least the Panasonics do).
I changed the channel to 11 and it seems to have fixed it at least sometimes. The phone was a 4 phone/answering machine set that i got for $35 so I know it's a get what you pay for thing.
