Cordless logitech trackball stops working whenever I restart

I just bought a Cordless Optical Trackball from Justdeals and it's great until I restart. It stops working. I've tried unplugging, pressing the connect button, taking out the batteries, etc. It works if I pull the battery out and then press connect. I also have a logitech optical usb mouse plugged into the other usb port. I have a cordless logitech itouch on the ps/2 port.
