i'm considering getting a cordless keyboard. i'm looking for observations & opinions on them before laying out the $ first. please post your info on brands, styles, cost, etc. i've never used one, so i don't know how they compare to standard keyboards.

I can't imagine going back to a standard after using my Logitech Cordless Desktop Pro. It is FM rather than IR, so it'll work from any room in the house, and the included ergonomic mouse has an effective range of about 10' or so. Perfect for couch gaming, or just losing the cord. I replace batteries a couple of times a year ( I understand the Optical Mice go through batteries a bit quicker). I recommend it highly!

One of my friends bought a wireless keyboard in college (I think it was a Logitech) but ended up getting rid of it because they found it didn't respond quick enough in FPS and other games.

I bought my brother the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical combo and the kboard rocks but I don't really like the mouse that much. You can get it at Sam's for $70 and it's a whopping $105 at BB.

I've been using an Acer Airkey (IR) for several years (it also has a simple rocker/two buttons mouse function built-in) and I really like it--I don't even have a std. kbd anymore, but I do have a Logi Trackman FX which I still often use for its multiple functions and greater precision. The batteries seem to last a good long time.
Too bad it's not made any more, but you might find one in a clearance bin somewhere (I saw one a couple of mo. ago).

I bought the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical combo and both the keyboard and the mouse rocks. No lag in either.

I have a Logitech cordless keyboard (can't remember the model, but it's $40 at BB and doesn't include a mouse). I love it, I use it in FPS all the time and it works great.

Wireless mice are great, but I won't use an RF wireless keyboard until they encrypt the data.
I'm not keen on somebody sniffing my passwords.

While I was looking around for kbd info, I came across this site, Interesting Kbds that has several interesting cordless kbds. The SK7500 is much like my Airkey. It is made by Silitek (a div. of LiteOn). They have a new version called the SK-7551. I would really like a RED one in case my Airkey ever goes TU, but can't find anyone that sells much Silitek--just a model here and there. If anyone sees one somewhere, send me a PM.

I agree. After getting the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical combo I could not imagine going back to a corded mouse/keyboard. I use rechargeable batteries, the keyboard batteries last a very long time, but the optical mouse isnt so good. I am glad that it is rechargeable batteries :)

IMHO if someone goes to all the trouble of setup sniffing equiptment close enough to my home computer and taking the time to reconstruct the keystrokes that I enter then more power to them they deserve to see my email and other crap.
