I have no clue what this mouse looks like or if it has a scroller, but cordless and infared for only $16 seems pretty hot?

The brand is PC Concepts -- sounds kinda cheesy....but we'll see.

Far I as know there isn't a cordless-optical mouse. That would draw down the batteries real quick.

If you go cordless, make sure its RF (radio frequency), NOT IR (infra-red).

The difference is critcal as the RF doestn' require line of sight. I've used some RF mice at distances over 12ft...while giving a presentation at work.

I've been looking for cordless/optical for ages. Guess it doesn't exist yet. They could solve the power problem by using a lithium battery and selling it with a "cradle" for recharging when it is idle or something...

A cordless infrared mouse is probably twice as limiting as a normal corded mouse :)

This mouse is brought to you by the same makers of the solar powered flashlites and submarine screen doors.

I have a cordless A4-Tech IR mouse that has a wide angle transciever on both the mouse and the reciever - I don't find it limiting at all.. the mouse even works 90 degrees off of the reciever.

Only time I ever have a problem with it is when I forget and put a box or something between the mouse and reciever.. other than that I like it for the price I paid.

Ya between the optical part and the cordless part, you'd run low on batteries pretty quick, plus, I'm personally a fan of the corded mice just for the sake of a guaranteed quick refresh rate...

I have a PC Concepts wireless keyboard (with point stick). It's great. The point stick is awkward. I'm hoping that this mouse, and the keyboard pointer use the same signals. Definitely worth a shot. The keyboard pointer isn't the best for fine-grained movements. My wife hates it.

I have logitech's cordless mouse and it can be a bit disturbing when the mouse runs haywire because the receiver isn't placed where it should be. After re-positioning the receiver, the mouse works perfectly. I agree, the battery runs out too quickly but that's just a minor setback, IMHO.
