Why must people copy the ENTIRE previous quote when they want to address one line, or one part of it? Why not just copy/paste that part, or reference a few words from it?

Nothing on this forum is more annoying than having to scroll down through 15 copies of one post to read one sentence at the end.

The repost police aren't even this annoying.

I usually edit quotes to only include the relevant information.

The quoting system on Vbulletin is pretty cool, it only quotes the last part of a message when you hit the quote button. It leaves out any nested quotes so you only get the new text added by the last poster, not all the text back to the beginning of the thread.

I tend to only keep the relevant material when I quote, and only quote when it might be non-obvious what I'm responding to in particular.

Good thing that pointing out annoying habits keeps those things from happening. Now we'll just have to work on people that post stupid rants about annoying habits.
