Copying resident evil 2

I know this probably isn't the right place to ask this but i'm sure some of you have tried to copy this. My brother rented resident evil 2 tonight and I was trying to copy it to a dvd but my computer wouldn't play it, it worked on my ps2 though. Is this disc some how protected or did I get screwed on my rental. If you have tried to copy this and it worked let me know.
 
All discs are protected and you are right, this is entirely the wrong place to post this. Piracy is bad mkay.
