Copying mySQL tables from one database to another

I run a forum based on phpBB2 for my graduating class. In the process of many upgrades and hacks, the database has become corrupt (some features don't work well, some not at all). To fix this, I'm trying to start fresh with a clean database, and copy the information I need (users & the posts they've made) onto the new database from the old. Hopefully this will mean that I only copy the clean parts of the database over.

My problem is, of course, I have no clue how to go about doing this...

Can anyone help me?
