I want to copy some tracks from my MP3 player to my XBOX.. But can't find a way to do it? Both on the console and in the manual.

Can it be done or am i not doing it right?

I think the only way you can put music ON the xbox is to rip it from CD's directly...

Are you talking Xbox 360, or original? 360 has a way to stream mp3s from your computer without too much hassle.

that would be way too convenient. just buy a cd-rw so you can use it multiple times.

Yeah I wish they had that on the 360. That was one thing on the PS3 that I liked.

Whats the difference in streaming as opposed to having the single on the drive?

Network traffic. Personally I just put what I want to listen to on a thumb drive and plug it in, I can snag a 2gb @ Microcenter for $18, so it's not really that bad. I do the same thing with movies ...

Beacause its my phone and i don't want to have to unplug the cable from the computer and connect it to the XBOX everytime i want to listen, not to mention i also have to set my phone to mass storage mode to do so which of course closes all connections to the service provider for the time im listening, also the XBOX tries to tell me the song is corrupt after its played once, so i have to reset the console to listen to the same song twice... Not very practical for me to do it this way.

Network traffic.

If you're having network issues over streaming a few MP3s, then your network really sucks.

That explains why you want to copy them, I was asking what the problem was with why you can't just stream them from a PC.
